Reported from the Nile River in Egypt (unconfirmed), to the Jordan River and associated tributaries and lakes in Israel and Jordan, to the Ceyhan River in southern Turkey. Often listed in the literature as occurring in central and northern Turkey, but all of the specimens we examined from these areas were Theodoxus anatolicus (Récluz, 1841).
Habitat:
Freshwater: on rocks in rivers, streams, ponds, and lakes.
